Consumer Tips Are Available for Jetsgo Ticket Holders
March 11, 2005
Edmonton... In light of the recent announcement by Jetsgo Airlines that they have ceased operations, Alberta Government Services encourages Albertans who purchased tickets from the airline to be aware of the options available to consumers.
Tips include:
- Jetsgo ticket holders should check if they have travel insurance and contact the insurance company to determine if their policy provides coverage in this situation.
- Consumers who purchased tickets by credit card should contact their credit card company and request a refund, since this may be part of their cardholder agreement.
- Under the Alberta Internet Sales Contract Regulation, Albertans who purchased tickets over the Internet are entitled to cancel their contracts if the services are not provided. If a credit card was used in the purchase, the credit card company must process a refund within 90 days if the airline is unable to provide a refund within 15 days of the cancellation.
While airlines are a federally regulated industry, Albertans who are concerned about their ticket purchases can contact the Alberta Government Services' Consumer Information Centre toll-free at 1-877-427-4088 for more information on options available to consumers.
