Protect Your Identity
Protect your personal information and you will protect yourself against identity theft, one of the fastest growing crimes in Canada.
Identity theft occurs when personal information (social insurance number, credit card, birth certificate, driver's licence or other identifying information) is used without an individual’s knowledge or consent to commit a crime, such as fraud or theft, .
Be careful with any documents or information you provide. They can be used to produce fraudulent identification and gain access to additional personal and financial information.

The Changing Faces presentation targets businesses and community groups in raising awareness of ID theft among customers, employees, and members of the community.

The Alberta government and federal government have a number of tools to help protect against and prevent identity theft:
